Attractions of Berlin

Berlin has several historical attractions on most
of it's streets representing different periods of history. The
German Parliament building Reichstag is one of Berlins most
historical landmarks. Home to the German parliament is well worth

Southwest of Berlin is Sanssouci Park located in Potsdam. Developed
by Frederick the Great, this park consists of gardens and
palaces built in the 18th century. Sanssouci Park is lush with green
turf grounds, decorated with flower gardens and flower beds, hedges
and trees. Water fountains are found through out the park, there is
even greenhouses that produce melons, oranges, peaches and bananas.
Located near the eastern exit of the park over 3,000 fruit trees are
planted in the hedge quarter. At the eastern entrance the goddesses
of Pomona and Flora were placed to symbolize the vegetable, fruit,
and flower garden.
Sanssouci Park also has two wonderful palaces the Scholoss
Sanssouci built in 1769 and the Neus Palace built in 1763, both of
the castles are open to the public.

Things to do in Berlin Germany
The Berlin Wall is a grim and bold reminder of
it's history. East of the city along the River Spree in the
area of Muhlenstrasse is where a large section of the wall has been
preserved for public viewing. The old wall acted as a barrier
dividing the east and west of the city. Today the wall is a reminder
of the city's past and peaceful future. The wall is adorned with
political slogans and majestic artwork.
Checkpoint Charlie was the only crossing point between East and West
Germany during the Cold War and often mentioned as the meeting place
for undercover agents, spies, and other suspicious people. Today
Check Point Charlie is a museum where you can purchase items from
the old Berlin Wall as well as other items.
The Memorial for the murdered Jews of Europe is
located a short distance from the Brandenburg Gate. This Memorial
Museum represents all the Jewish people who died during the
Holocaust. Inside the Memorial is the museum with dated, detailed
events and history of the holocaust.
Located in Lindenstrasse near the Hallesches Tor U-Bahn is the
Jewish Museum with it's age old design simply stunning along with
impressive modern art exhibits is the largest in Europe with
documents filled with 2000 years of history.
